3D City Plaster/Cardboard

Hello,

Recently, my group and I have been working on a 3-Dimensional project out of Plaster of Paris and cardboard. We are attempting to build a modern city which consists of many buildings, cars, and other features found in a city. We are basing our city around the Eiffel Tower part of our Paris which has a circular/hexagonal design. We plan to have a monumental building in the middle of our island and many smaller buildings around it. Our middle building will be made of plaster whereas our other buildings will be made of cardboard with plaster details. We are still working on our project and have just started getting smaller details to put around the city. These small details like cars, and other pieces would be made of plaster. Also, we are thinking to use lego to make the middle building where we make the outline out of lego and fill in plaster inside the mold. Then, we would remove the lego pieces and have the final product there. For now, we are using a cardboard mold just for some experimenting as you can see in the picture. As I said, we have just started and all we have is a base that is cut and has been painted. What do you think we could do to progress in our city? Our biggest problem is finding a mold for the middle building...

  1. Hey Yajat.
Nice City you have got there. I like the idea of the city. It is nice. My one Question, is that, will you be able to finish on time? This seems like a lengthy project. I think that you should make it somewhat smaller, because it requires time. Otherwise, Nice Idea.

    1. Hey Haris,

We are tight on time but we think that we should be able to finish it soon... Anyways, it's too late to make it smaller so I think we just need to keep working and finish it up.

  3. Hi Yajat, this is Ivy:
Cool idea of 3D city. I can see the feature of your basic city and the composition is very interesting. Can't wait to see your finished work.
