Debatabke Question (Mariam, Spencer, Elly, Alex, Nicole)

Can Art Ever Be Completed?

  1. I am Chloe from XIS. I mostly agree with the quote. When I make paintings, I can always add more values and improve it. Instead I just give up because I feel like it's 'finished'. Art is something that never finishes.

  2. I am Crystal from XIS and I'm against this question. Art is self expression. Therefore, there must be a time when the artist feels like he or she has done expressing himself or herself. I think it's all about self-satisfaction. Even though more touches could be made to an artwork at any moment, the decision is up to the artist, and other people should respect the artist's self expression. Therefore, art could always be completed depending on the artist's intentions and self-satisfaction.

  3. Art cannot be completed because depending on artists, they might want to color the same thing over again. I believe from making adgestments it could make the art value higher.

  4. I think that art can eventually be completed, based on what the artist think. When the artist has fully feel like they have expressed themselves in the piece they have, then it becomes apparent to them whether they are truly satisfied with what they have produced and it is the best it can be, then the artist can make the decision of when it's finished. But, it all depends on the artist.

  5. Art is a lot about feeling, it isn't about what it looks like but more about how it makes you feel. So when make a piece if you feel it's completely done then it's done . . . for you. Of course anything can be approved on or added but that's relative to the person.

  9. I believe that art can be completed. When the artist feels like there is nothing more to be done and that the art is the way they want it to be, than it is completed. The art is completed when the artist decides because it is their creation.

  10. I agree with this quote. Like everything, art can always be improved. The artist can decide if he wants to stop/present the piece, but it's never truly finished unless its completely perfect.

  12. I think art can be completed, as art is about how you perceive it. Some people could perceive art as incomplete, while others could perceive it as complete. It really depends on the person, but if the artist thinks it's complete, it's complete.

  13. I believe art can be completed since every artist is different and sees their art differently. When one artist is satisfied with his painting can be different from when another artist is satisfied with their artwork.

  14. Art can not be finished, according to me, because the artwork can always be better, and it really depends on the artist. If the artist is self-satisfacted, then the artwork is complete to them. But there is room for improvement
